Eligibility Requirements
This scholarship scheme would be both achievement-based and need-based, meaning the beneficiaries must demonstrate a commitment to rigorous academic pursuit and must also demonstrate they are really in need of the funds.
The candidates for the scholarship are polled from the recommendation of advisors and partners, and after rigorous interview sessions, the beneficiaries would be selected. The inaugural beneficiaries would be selected and awarded in August.
The fund would award 3 new students each year throughout their time at the University.
Application Checklist
In order for your application to be processed, the following 3 materials must be submitted:
1. A complete and signed application form.
2. Write and submit 2 Essays (as detailed or brief as you want it to be) answering the following question:
Essay 1 ‐ If you had the power to solve a major problem in the world, what problem would it be and how do you plan to tackle it?
(We look out for students who are visionary and have passion for solving problem. We will use this essay to determine this)
Essay 2 ‐ Write an essay to justify why you need this scholarship and how it can help you shape your future. (We want the beneficiaries of this award to be people who really need support...we will use this essay to determine if you are financially in need.)
3. A scanned copy of your terminal reports (PDF) and an official copy of your WASSCE results (PDF) ( *If your WASSCE result is not in yet, send in only the terminal reports for now. You can submit your WASSCE result at a later date )
Release Clause
This release form enables the Achiaw scholarship Program to obtain copies of information regarding admission and student loan packages and grade reports for the purpose of determining eligibility, developing educational plans, and reporting program statistics.
Aspects of this information and the nature of your participation in the Achiaw scholarship Program may be shared with other university personnel in accordance with regulations and University policy.
You have access to all of your records with the Program, excluding letters of recommendation. With my signature, I hereby grant permission to the staff of Achiaw scholarship Program, to access my student record and secondary school records including academic, enrollment, and student loans award information from the university(s) I have attended, attend, or will attend.
I understand that all information will be kept confidential and that the information shall only be transferred to a third party outside Achiaw scholarship Program on the condition that my written consent is first obtained.
